"Ishan Srushti" (2003 -2005) a residential complex of 141 apartment was designed by a renowned Architect applying principles of sustainable architecture. Featuring:

Designing the layout by studying the Sun path and wind directions
Massing and elevations designed in a way so as to keep the buildings  and  the central recreation area in shade
Minimum reforms in the natural topography

All this aimed at reducing heat absorption by buildings resulting into less use artificial (electric) cooling.

Other features include:

Water recycling
Supply of cooking gas by pipeline
provision for solar water heating

All this aimed at reducing the environmental impact and to reduce the maintenance cost for the residents.

The real challenge was to construct it by adhering to these principles and yet creating a modern urban housing complex at affordable prices.
Today 100% of the apartments are inhabited by happy and contended families
